My daughter and I were honored to be hired to paint three murals at the Museum of Automobiles on Petit Jean Mountain in AR. We even had the opportunity meet a member of the Rockefeller family. The Museum of Automobiles, has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1964.

The museum was established by Winthrop Rockefeller, who constructed a building on Petit Jean Mountain to house his collection of antique and classic cars. It opened its doors on October 18, 1964, featuring 33 cars, including some from the Rockefeller family.

Following Rockefeller's death in 1973, the museum closed as the collection was sold, excluding his personal contributions. In 1976, a group of volunteers from various car clubs revived the museum, reopening it with 33 cars on loan from enthusiasts.

Today, the museum operates as a nonprofit and hosts various events, including car shows and swap meets, making it a popular destination for vintage car enthusiasts. It showcases not just cars but also the history and engineering behind them, offering a glimpse into automotive heritage.
